I did try that, but mplayer is stuck until I use ^C; it's the same:

mplayer dvdnav://1 -dumpstream -dumpfile wer1.ts
MPlayer dev-SVN-r24015-4.1.2 (C) 2000-2007 MPlayer Team
CPU: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.40GHz (Family: 15, Model: 2, Stepping: 7)
CPUflags: MMX: 1 MMX2: 1 3DNow: 0 3DNow2: 0 SSE: 1 SSE2: 1
Compiled for x86 CPU with extensions: MMX MMX2 SSE SSE2

Playing dvdnav://1.
libdvdnav: Using dvdnav version 0.2.1cvs from http://dvd.sf.net
libdvdnav: DVD Title: WER_FRUEHER_STIRBT_IST_LAENGER!
libdvdnav: DVD Serial Number: 364172a7
libdvdnav: DVD Title (Alternative):
libdvdnav: Unable to find map file '/home/lynx/.dvdnav/WER_FRUEHER_STIRBT_IST_LAENGER!.map'
libdvdnav: DVD disk reports itself with Region mask 0x00fd0000. Regions: 2
libdvdnav: ifoRead_VOBU_ADMAP vtsi failed

MPlayer interrupted by signal 2 in module: open_stream

Concerning the demuxer: With another DVD that I can play with dvd://1 or
dvdnav://1 the other demuxer makes dvdnav:// run about 5 sec. instead of 1
till mplayer crashes. It's not really much but noticebly;)

Any ideas what else I can try?
(Haven't compiled xine yet)
