Hi,
I'm trying to compile mplayer for Solaris 10 x86 so I can play DVDs in
fullscreen mode.

I get the following output

Possible reasons, problems, workarounds:
- Most common: broken/buggy _audio_ driver
  - Try -ao sdl or use the OSS emulation of ALSA.
  - Experiment with different values for -autosync, 30 is a good start.
- Slow video output
  - Try a different -vo driver (-vo help for a list) or try -framedrop!
- Slow CPU
  - Don't try to play a big DVD/DivX on a slow CPU! Try some of the
lavdopts,
    e.g. -vfm ffmpeg -lavdopts lowres=1:fast:skiploopfilter=all.
- Broken file
  - Try various combinations of -nobps -ni -forceidx -mc 0.
- Slow media (NFS/SMB mounts, DVD, VCD etc)
  - Try -cache 8192.
- Are you using -cache to play a non-interleaved AVI file?
  - Try -nocache.
Read DOCS/HTML/en/video.html for tuning/speedup tips.
If none of this helps you, read DOCS/HTML/en/bugreports.html.

My system has a Nvidia GeForce 5500 256MB graphics card.
I've attached some output logs from the compile as a tar file if you want to
see the mplayer compile.
I also found this post
http://lists.mplayerhq.hu/pipermail/mplayer-users/2006-November/064072.html
which suggests I should have -vo vx as a command line option, but the
configure output (in the attached tar file) shows it was a disabled optional
driver.

Can someone tell me if I need to add libXv-dev from somewhere? or how I can
get full screen DVD working with reasonable performance?
These are the current default Xorg packages on Solaris 10 x86

Thanks heaps in advance.

Also can someone tell me how to reply to this thread
http://lists.mplayerhq.hu/pipermail/mplayer-users/2006-November/064072.html
as I'm a total newbie at this and I don't seem to have a news program?
