It isn't your problem, it's mplayer's problem.. -channels 6 option
doesn't help too - for some reason mplayer always plays dts in stereo.

I reported it on 24 Dec, the topic was "DTS: works with 2 channels
only,...". There was no reaction, probably because I haven't filled in
bugzilla and uploaded a sample; I'll do it soon.
