DO NOT USE vme=1!!!!!!! This will make your movie horrible quality.
It's old and not maintained and not intended to be used -- lavc will
not take number of bits used for motion vectors into effect, so all
your bits will be wasted on mv's and then you'll get high quantizers
and ugly images. Also vme=1 is mad slow.

Try leaving the default vme=4 and all should be good!
