[Mplayer-dvb] alsa5 not working

I cannot play sound using mplayer. I get "Das Argument ist ungueltig"
means: "the argument is invalid"

Alsa itself is working (aplay) (alsa-driver-0.5.12a)
MPlayer 0.90pre4-2.95.2
kernel 2.4.17-xfs

What can I do to see what is wrong with the argument?
