Hmm, when playing

http://www.mplayerhq.hu/MPlayer/samples/mov/qtaudio/surge-2-32-B-in32.mov

I get a most peculiar effect: If I press 9 to turn down the volume the
sample starts playing at about double speed..  This is specific to
ao_alsa.  Can anybody reproduce?
