Well, it might be a start to seperate IRIX (e.g. sound?) from non-IRIX 
(e.g. mpeg2dec?) parts. One problem with porting MPlayer (I think) is, that
everything is mixed somehow. That is fine for speed of course, but I think
most IRIX machines are now fast enough to decode realtime even without speed 
hacks. Also, the IRIX compiler is soooooo great ;-)

Just thought I'd mention it...

I am not so very sure about that. Arpi, when did anybody last try to run 
MPlayer on Intel-Solaris? It's in the configure-script, but I never heard 
about anybody using it...

Ich bin nur zu Gast, ein Jahr als Doktorand in Goeteborg. Das ganze endet im 
August, weil mich das Wetter im letzten Oktober zu sehr geschockt hat, als dass 
ich noch ein Herbst hier verbringen wollte... Ausserdem bin ich Mathematiker, 
nicht Informatiker ;-p
