[MEncoder-users] Single Screen Capture from FLV?

newb to the command-line video manipulating.  trying to automate the
creation of thumbnails for videos so i don't have to do full-screen captures
and modify them.

and mencoder/mplayer seems to be one of the few command-line tools that will
play FLV's  *and*  create images.

i want to capture a single 80x80 jpeg from an FLV.  at the very least, a
jpeg from an AVI.  using mplayer, i managed to create a butt-load of jpegs
even though i set maxfiles to 1.

is there a way to get mencoder or mplayer to output just a single screen
capture with the dimensions 80x80?

and is there a way to tell it which frame to grab?

any suggestions about command line parameters i would use to accomplish
this?
