[Mplayer-dvb] Is it possible to get the LinVDR-OSD on top of the MPlayer-VGA-Output?

Hi!

Is it possible to use MPlayer for watching TV with linvdr/linuxtv, including the On Screen Display functionality?

I've read, that using the linvdr OSD is only possible with the (overpriced) TT Premium based DVB cards' TV-Out.

But I'd prefer to build myself an VGA->Scart Adaptor, make a modeline for PAL 15,6 kHz interlaced Video Output and use mplayer for playback.

VGA-2-Scart-Adaptor:

http://www.hut.fi/Misc/Electronics/circuits/vga2tv/circuit.html

An extra-Benefit: VGA offers RGB high quality Video, TV-Out of the Premium cards is only bad CVBS/Composite (FBAS). (Except if you have an older revision and built an adaptor)

In other words: I'd like to have the opposite of this: http://www.linuxtv.org/news/martin/mplayerdvb.xml (I don't want to use mplayer to playback files via the TV-Cards TV-Out, but instead use mplayer to bring the pictures - including linvdr's OSD - to the VGA Connector)

Is this possible?

We now obviously have a SkyStar2 driver (FINALLY! FINALLY! FINALLY!) :-) :-) :-)

So the TT-based budget cards (about 120,- EUR) now can be replaced by TechniSat SkyStar 2 cards (39,- ... 59,- EUR). If I also could avoid buying a VERY EXPENSIVE TT premium based DVB card (200,- ... 240,- EUR) to build my own LinuxTV, I immediately would go and buy the neccessary components! :-)
