It is C++ translated into C.
I contacted all(most) of the authors ( khuh, some are probably reading
this list ), and the state of affairs is like this
 - there is GPL re-implenentation of the code coming for transcode
 ( we use exactly the same file as theirs divx4_vbr and xvid_vbr )
 - OpenDivx switched licence to GPL lately... problem is that only decoder
is GPLd, and the code comes from encoder, which is still closed.
 - offending code in question is quite simple, it should be fairly easy to
 rewrite, if noone does it, I will, I am only affraid, especially after my
 latest vf_mirror implementation which when I finally noticed is buggy and
 corrected it, was already corrected.

So in the meantime I'm packaging only mplayer and divx4_vbr get disabled
until transcode gets new code.
