yes, but no binary packages anymore

You can get directx headers from
http://www.mplayerhq.hu/MPlayer/releases/win32-beta/contrib/dx7headers.tgz
Also try the attached patch. The mingw build has this applied.
If you use win98 redirecting mplayer's output or the -quiet option may give
you a big performance gain.
