No, it should not segfault. An error msg is ok, but not a segfault.

But, what i'd like to know is. Can vidix be set up that
mplayer does not need any root priviledges ?
Or is it a technical limit ?

I somewhat liked the mga_vid system as it didnt need
any root priviledges on the binary and i could control
access to it over the normal unix way (setting permissions
on the char device).

Is anything like this or something similar planed ?
