[MEncoder-users] Re: Specifying ranges on multiple input files (was Re: How to specify an action range in mencoder?)

Dear Guillaume, dear mplayer specialists all,

is there a more precise way to express action ranges in mencoder?
Something like -sframe /s/, meaning processing should start at frame s
(when possible) or at the nearest possible following frame, seems to me
much better than -ss /time/.

Furthermore, as Guillaume already pointed out, option "-ss" is not very
much precise with mpeg2 files:

I understand that this is possibly a consequence of the way mpeg2 are
encoded, but I believe this must not be the only cause: I tried on
several input files and each time I have always to adjust the time
manually -- a little bug maybe?

Thanks in advance for your ever insightful replies,

cheers,

Enzo.
