[MEncoder-users] Real to MPEG4: suggestions for audio encoding

I'm a novice for audio encoding, so I don't know which is the better method to move the
audio from a Real encoded movie to MPEG4 without loosing portability and quality.

I try to convert a RealVideo movie to MPEG4 for simpler distribution on Linux and PC.
I'm using pre6a on Linux.

The command used is:

vopts="vbitrate=40000:mbd=2:keyint=132:v4mv:vqmin=3:lumi_mask=0.07:dark_mask=0.2:scplx_mask=0.1:tcplx_mask=0.1:naq:trell"

mencoder -ovc lavc -lavcopts vcodec=mpeg4:$vopts:acodec=mp3:abitrate=32 -oac lavc
	 -o sevrstorm.avi sevrstorm.rm

I tried also:

   mp3lame - but the audio is quite bad (jerks like the video, see my previous posting)
   lavc with ac3 - but Windows does not know how to decode it

When I play the resulting file with mplayer, it outputs a serie of messages like the
following, but only if audio is present:

mpg123: Can't rewind stream by 11 bits!2  63/ 63  4%  0%  0.3% 0 0
mpg123: Can't rewind stream by 34 bits!4 724/724  0%  0%  0.2% 0 0
mpg123: Can't rewind stream by 47 bits!4 755/755  0%  0%  0.2% 0 0
mpg123: Can't rewind stream by 21 bits!8 869/869  0%  0%  0.2% 0 0
A:  63.8 V:  63.8 A-V:  0.005 ct:  0.360 958/958  0%  0%  0.2% 0 0

Can you guide me? Thanks!
