I can't compile mplayer since a week or so.

It fails with this error:

make[1]: *** [twinvq.o] Error 1

I guess this problem happens because my compiler is old (gcc version 3.3.4)
but I've been able to compile all mplayer versions until now. It would be
pity I couldn't compile mplayer anymore just because of a file.
