[MPlayer-users] [OT] Book lists for video processing beginners

Dear list,

As a beginner to this field, it attracts me much attention on how
video and audio processing within a media player.

To better understand how all the things work, is there any
recommendation books for beginners like me?
Surely the source codes would explain most parts, but I would like
know some more basic knowledge befor diggin the codes.

Any comments would be greatly appereciated.
