Well, if you demux with mpgtx instead of mplayer -dumpvideo, it will work.

I don't know why it is not working now, but it used to work. After I
generated my DVD-compliant MPEG with mencoder, I would 
mplayer -dumpvideo/-dumpaudio and then mplex the results. This was not
really necessary; I only did it to avoid the countless warnings in dvdauthor.

However, one day I became aware of tsaf, and I noticed that dvdauthor did
not complaint about files produced with tsaf, so I stopped doing it long ago.
