MPlayer video playback does depend on audio timing information. Have
you tried with different values for -mc (0/10) and -autosync (1/30)?
You also haven't said what version of MPlayer you are using. If it's
older, you should try with a recent SVN snapshot.

There's a very interesting response from Brad Midgley.
MPlayer is indeed single threaded... What's so screwed up about the
design of "bluez" to cause a problem with that?
