[MPlayer-users] Again: Videos halting, jumping, playing and again

I had the problem described in the forwarded email (at the end of this one)
some days ago and thought it had been solved by a total reinstall of mplayer
with purging the configuration files.
Unfortunately this is not the case.
Now I already tried to use the lavf demuxer and the -correct-pts option but
unfortunately this isn't working either.
In general I use smplayer (compiled from recent svn) but the same problems
occurs from commandline mplayer. Smplayer uses the avi demuxer as a
standard, with same problem. Kaffeine (xine) plays video files all nicely.
I tried it with the mplayer-nogui package from the ubuntu repos (
1.0rc2-4.1.3). Playback is nice.
But actually I always used the mplayer from subversion before and had no
problems so I'm wondering what this is all about. I even compiled ffmpeg
from svn no wand tried with that and the package from the repos (later i
realized, that mplayer uses it's own ffmpeg fork?)
So maybe a change during the version from the repo and and from svn messed
things in the specific setting of my computer.
