It looks like this was introduced in libavcodec/wmadec.c in ffmpeg commit r14171
as part of a fix for another issue.

Backing that commit out fixes this issue, but I assume that reintroduces the
original bug.

With mplayer, using 'mplayer -ac wmadmo' should work if you have the binary
codecs installed.
