Hello everybody ...
For several weeks I've tried, and successfully managed to make a dvd player
based on a mini-itx computer with a Commel 667 mainboard (CN400 chipset, Via
c3 cpu 1 GHz 512 MB ram) and Ubuntu 7.04
I've been using VeMP (Via Enhanced MPlayer) for that and the viaarena
drivers which compiled fine ... now I have mpeg2 and mpeg4 hardware
accelerated movie playback both on X.org and FBDEV.
BUT I RAN INTO A PROBLEM ... on some movies it happens that VeMP stucks on a
number of frames which it plays over and over again. To be more specific ...
the frames go back and forth in an endless loop. If I quit the VeMP player
and restart it with the same movie or any other one ... I GET NO IMAGE AT
ALL, though the sound is there so the movie plays, but there is no image.
When this happens, I am forced to reboot the computer in order to fix the
blank screen problem, but playing again the same movie file, everything
happens again in the same spot everytime.
Has anyone experienced this ? Are there any solutions?
THX a lot
PS. This bug appears both in X.org and FBDEV ... same files, same spot, same
scenario
