What happens if you override font selection with "-ass-force-style 
FontName=<font family>". You can get <font family> from fontconfig_select 
line from some subtitle that is displayed correctly with -ass.

Also, is it possible to upload "/Library/Fonts/Times New Roman" somewhere, or 
even send me by e-mail ? It might be too large for the mailing list.
