mplayer -vo help
Should tell you what drivers are available. The fastest are the xv , xvidix
mplayer -vo xvidix:mga_vid.so
Make sure your Direct Rendering Infrastructure (DRI) is working: checking
the /var/log/Xorg.0.log file should show your status.
