Oh. You're not talking about frame rate in the usual sense as that term
is applied to video files; you're talking about *performance*. That's an
entirely different issue.

Unfortunately, beyond suggesting that you look at the '-benchmark'
option, there's not a lot I can think of offhand without knowing more
about what you're seeing.
