Hi,
I'm looking for a way to play sorenson mov's back under linux without any color shift.
I've recently noticed that mplayer displays mov's a little too dark, red, and contrasty.
For comparison i've created frames sequences in both OSX and Windows using both Shake and QTPro.
These 4 ripped sequences all match perfectly in color and contrast and look the same as the mov
when compared on OSX or Windows.
However, when these sequences are compared to the same mov playing through mplayer in linux the
difference is quite obvious. If i rip the mov to tga's or jpg's via mplayer the variation is baked
into the frames and can easily be seen on any OS.
Iv'e found the difference can be reduced using : mplayer -vo xv -vf pp=al:c
But sadly the problem is still there...
Xine also displays with a similar color shift, yet Cinelerra 2.0 displays and rips with correct
color ( theres no way i can use it for the playback purposes i need though ).
The problem appears to be exaclty the same under both Fedora Core 4 and Ubuntu Dapper. Maybe video
card related... ( nvidia quadro 3400 )
Is there anyway to render the mov to screen excatly as is, bypassing all filtering and color space
conversion?
Thanks indeed,
j.
