[MPlayer-users] Playback Issues on G4

Hello.

I just downloaded and installed the latest release of mplayer on my  
iBook G4 running Mac OS X. Mplayer seems to work fine, but on a h264  
file, the video playback is jerky, even with all other applications  
closed and -framedrop -vfm ffmpeg -lavdopts skiploopfilter=all. I  
then tried using the most recent version of svn, but that didn't help.

However, if I try to play the file with mplayer on my PowerMac G4  
running Ubuntu linux, the file plays perfectly. The PowerMac  
processor is slower  (733 MHz; the iBook G4 is 1 GHz), and both  
machines have 640 MB of ram. Why is the slower machine able to play a  
file that the faster one cannot?
