300MB for 30min is pretty reasonable, already.  To compress them much
further, you're going to need to lose a bit of quality.  

Do these episodes have commercials?  If so, editing those out will
result in the biggest space savings (1/4 to 1/3), without any loss of
quality.  An editing program like "avidemux" is best for that job.

To give you any more help, you'd have to provide much, much more
information. Re-encoding with a lower bitrate is quite simple, so I
don't know what it is you need help with.
