Hi,
Sorry for my late reply. I was busy on the weekend and didn't get to touch the computer at all. So.. well..
I think you talk about JPEF quality when I use quality as 100. To my JPEG capturing from movie, it does make a difference. It looks a little nicer and sharper on my screen.
You ask me to use head /home/www/webmovie.avi right?
It does print out strange character.
But still.. when I execute mplayer as normal user, to my disappointment, it still doesn't produce my avi capture to the folder. I really not sure why...
Regards,
Ko Ko

Btw.: You know that jpeg is always lossy, even with "quality=100"?

When you are logged in as a normal user, try the following command:
head /home/www/webmovie.avi
If it does *not* show some strange characters, your permissions are wrong.
Otherwise it's mplayer's fault.

Matthias
