Not directly related to your problem, but FWIW and in case it would be
useful at some later date, the blue rectangle is most likely due to the
VO method you're using. If you experiment with different video-out
methods, you should most likely be able to find one which will allow a
valid screenshot to be taken; I've done so in the past myself.
