I'am sorry, I never had any trouble with mplayer so I was yust
conserned...
I'am using xv on a TNT2 with the latest Nvidia drivers on XFree-4.3.0.1,
homebrew MPlayer 1.0pre4 build on a lfs-4.0 system.
When playing the homemade mpeg1 (script to create the kvcd-mpeg stream
can be found at http://www.japie.deserver.nl/ftp/KVCD/divx2kvcd.sh)
mplayer exits with the message: The selected video_out device is
incompatible with this codec. (I attached a full -v output at the
bottom)
But xv is used nevertheless...
When I encode at 352x240 both aspects are properly shown (4/3 and 16/9),
when I encode at 352x288 or higher the aspect isn't shown properly so
it's not a video_out problem (else the 352x240 encodings wouldn't be
right too)
