[MPlayer-users] Encoding streaming media

Hello.


I'd like to save/encode a movie available from a streaming server.

MPlayer plays it fine with
 $ mplayer -playlist abc.rm

But when I try MEncoder with e.g.:
 $ mencoder -playlist abc.rm -o abc.avi -ovc lavc -lavcopts vcodec=ffv1 -oac copy

The program outputs:
 [...]
 playlist is not an MEncoder option
 Exiting... (error parsing cmdline)

Is it possible to record from the network?
(I'm using MEncoder 1.0pre3-3.3.3)
