[MPlayer-users] Playing 44.1kHz MP3's properly at 48kHz

Hello!

I'm trying to play 44.1kHz MP3's at 48kHz. I'm using a VIA EPIA
motherboard, and they only support S/PDIF output at 48kHz, and they will
not upsample the audio properly: the player must do it.

The EPIA Linux HOWTO (at
http://www.viaarena.com/?PageID=372#sampling_48khz) gives the following
line to cause mplayer to upsample to 48kHz:

mplayer -aop list=resample:fout=48000 myfile.mp3

When I use this command line, though, it plays the MP3 too slowly: like
a record that is spinning too slow. How should I use mplayer to play
44.1kHz MP3's at 48kHz?

Thank you very much for any help you might be able to give me. I
appreciate it.

Tim Massey
