[MPlayer-users] mplayer -wid option on Solaris doesn't work (1.0pre4-2.95.3)

When I supply the -wid option to mplayer I see the window unmap/remap
but nothing is
ever drawn on it. The same command works without -wid in a window of
its own.
I am running Solaris 9 12/02 with the SUNWmlib media libraries (I tried
it with and
without, no change).
I'd appreciate any pointers. Please mail me directly, I am not a member
of this mailing
list.
Here's the output from the command:
% mplayer -quiet -xy 240 -wid 0x120000d -cache 1000 -vop pp -autoq 99
-nojoystick -nofs -zoom -osdlevel 1 /export/downloads/george1.mov
