I can't play dvd's with Mplayer due to

> Tux:~# mount -t iso9660 /dev/dvd /mnt/dvd
> mount: /dev/dvd is not a block device

 /etc/fstab has the line

> /dev/dvd /dvd iso9660
> defaults,ro,user,noauto 0 0

Trying to mount I received the message

"mount: mount point /dvd does not exist"

So I then tried (as root)

"mkdir dvd
mount -t iso9660 /dev/dvd /dvd -o ro
ls /dvd"

Reply was (again)

"mount: /dev/dvd is not a black device"

At the moment we have

> Tux:/# find -name dvd -print
> ./root/dvd
> ./etc/dvd
> ./dev/dvd
> ./mnt/dvd
> ./dvd
> ./dvd/dvd

Any advice helping to solve this problem would be appreciated.
I know I'm missing something here - I've not messed around with Linux
DVD/CD's much so far.
