uhm,
I will make some test at home, it's really strange that mplayer can't 
play an audio only avi: FrNo is there right for this situation.
Can you upload a sample of the file you are streaming to 
ftp://www.mplayerhq.hu/MPlayer/incoming/ and tell me the name, please?
