[MPlayer-users] Keep window aspect ratio when sizing

I've just installed mplayer 0.91-2 (command line version), and
immediately started wanting the ability to maintain the aspect ratio
when resizing a window.  A search of the list archives brings up this:

I note that the author of that patch said that it wouldn't work in KDE -
alas, that is what I use.

Is there another solution?
