Let me guess, you are using gcc 3.2. I had the same problem and I
answer that I got was the 3.2 does not work with the latest mplayer
source. You can either upgrade to 3.2.2 or try this hack that "Reder,
Uwe" <Uwe.Reder at 3SOFT.de> send me:

Hi!

I have the same problems as Charles using also gcc 3.2 but compiling for
Pentium 3. Three files from libfaad2 won't compile due to an internal
compiler problem. The files are: mdct.c, cfft.c and sbr_hfadj.c. You can
make them compile by omitting either "-O4" or in my case
"-march=pentium3 -mcpu=pentium3" from the call to gcc (for every failing
file do: change to libfaad; cut out the failing compiler call; remove
one of the two phrases from above; launch call to gcc from the command
line; return to top directory; type make).

Uwe.
