Hello all.
I bought an external USB2-to-IDE box and a "standard" IDE DVD reader
(well, I tested with 3 different readers).
When I run "mplayer dvd://1" it recognizes the DVD structure, but then
stops, and I have to ^C it.
The actual outpu is:
[ndk at amleto Shared]$ mplayer -v dvd://1
Using GNU internationalization

MPlayer interrupted by signal 2 in module: demux_open
vo: x11 uninit called but X11 not inited..
Looking at the logs, it seems it tries to rhead the DVD w/o
authenticating first, so it gets plenty of read errors.
When I connect any of the three readers to the internal IDE bus, it
works w/o any problem.
Attached is an extract from the syslog, up to the first error. I already
tried contacting Matthew Dharm (maintainer of the Linux USB mass storage
module), but the only thing we noticed is that there seems no attempt to
authenticate, just READ commands :-(
Most probably I'm missing something, but WHAT ?
Tks,
Diego.
