I'm curious... do you get the out-of-sync problem only on stuff that's
intended for tv and then put on dvd or "movies" (ie - not interlaced
and intended for 23.976 fps) as well ?
Also, has anyone ever tried using aviplay on an out-of-sync file
created by mencoder? I encoded a 2 hour, 23.976 fps NTSC film with
mencoder that slowly gets more out-of-sync from about halfway through
to the end. In mplayer, xine, and windoze media player, it's
out-of-sync but using aviplay, iirc the file played back with good
sync. Has anyone else experienced this? I unfortunately have since
deleted the file so I can't be more precise but I'm wondering if this
might be a clue to possibly fixing the problem.
