[MPlayer-users] SiS PCI Audio Accelerator - broken hardware????

I'm still on the track of the audio delay. I've been playing with
streamer, the basic vidcap utility that comes with xawtv.

When I use /dev/dsp, which is the on-board sound card, it shows the
exact same behavior as mencoder - the sound lags behind. I'm guessing
that the mobo is dropping interrupts.

This is reproducible on two completely different machines with the SIS
630 chipset.

The sound delay problem goes away if I use btaudio sound (of course I
can't capture the sound from my VCR that way.)

Anyone else using SIS audio chipsets?

I'm attaching /sbin/lspci output from the two machines:

Any way to confirm that it is in fact the chipset or mobo? Any
recommendations for hardware for vidcaps?

Thanks,
