have you tried "mplayer" ? :)) documentary is man page and probably in your 
/usr/share/doc/mplayer* or /usr/local/share/doc/mplayer* or something like 
that..
try "gmplayer" to get mplayer with it's gui.. though there are other guis 
available too..
