Sure I can give you a sample. I am uploading a 60s chunk of the movie in 
question called "WeStand.ogm". If I let mplayer play all the way through 
it, A-V is less than -3 at some points, but greater than 0 at others. In 
particular, notice how the sync gets worse during the old B/W film 
shots, then starts to improve when it gets back to the NTSC shots of the 
men talking.

I noticed that Matroska has "real" MPEG-4 video types, though mkvmerge 
doesn't create them yet. Will that deal with this problem?
