[MPlayer-users] why does my mplayer can't play subtitles

the errors occured is below:
font: can't open file: /home/dutao/.mplayer/font/font.desc
font: can't open file: /usr/share/mplayer/font/font.desc

and then 

Software: Nandub v1.0rc2
SUB: Detected subtitle file format: subviewer 2.0
SUB: Read 0 subtitles.
Cannot load subtitles: exile-bat-cd1-xvid.sub

I don't know why can't load subtitles?

My subtitles file contains chinese letter, 
and I have copied one chinese fonts ttf file to ~/.mplayer/subfont.ttf
then what can i do.
