For what it's worth, I have a family 6, model 8, stepping 0 AthlonXP
2200+, and SSE works just fine. I'm running a custom-compiled
2.4.20-pre10-ac1 kernel.

Is /proc/cpuinfo read directly from the CPU, or does it show what the
kernel understands the CPU to be capable of?
