Looks like you're missing pkg_config, which may be what it uses to find 
the GTK+2.0 stuff that it needs.
Packages  pkgconfig, gtk+2.0, libgtk+2.0_0-devel and libgt+2.0.0_0 are
what I have on my Mandrake system.
