You probably didn't include libavcodec when compiling.  Read the fucking
manual: See  MPlayer-<version>/DOCS/en/codecs.html#libavcodec .  If you
still have problems after copying libavcodec over and recompiling,
please see  MPlayer-<version>/DOCS/en/bugreports.html  for instructions
on how to prepare a proper bug report.
