I uploaded Silent_Light.mp3 and Silent_Light.txt to incoming directory.
Mplayer dev-CVS-030730-19:30-3.2.1 has problems playing it using mp3lib
and ffmpeg, only mad works.
The following is just contents of Silent_Light.txt.

The file Silent_Light.mp3 plays incorrectly with mplayer using -ac mp3 and
-ac ffmp3. mpg123/mpg321/xmms and 'mplayer -ac mad' have no problems with it,
however. The file is 44kHz, 128kbit, but with -ac mp3 I get

MP3lib: init layer2&3 finished, tables done
AUDIO: 24000 Hz, 2 ch, 16 bit (0x10), ratio: 3000->96000 (24,0 kbit)
Selected audio codec: [mp3] afm:mp3lib (mp3lib MPEG layer-2, layer-3)

and file playes slowed down 2 times, which sounds horrible.

With -ac ffmp3 output is

AUDIO: 24000 Hz, 1 ch, 16 bit (0x10), ratio: 3000->48000 (24,0 kbit)
Selected audio codec: [ffmp3] afm:ffmpeg (FFmpeg MPEG layer-3 audio decoder)

and the sound is even worse...

With -ac mad:

AUDIO: 44100 Hz, 2 ch, 16 bit (0x10), ratio: 16000->176400 (128,0 kbit)
Selected audio codec: [mad] afm:libmad (libMAD MPEG layer 1-2-3)

And normal sound.
