I don't know a lot about these things, if you want to do so under Linux, this 
is the reason why I said nothing ... otherwise it's a good Starting point to 
try :

I was under the Impression that it is possible, since SVCD-Subs are listed in 
the compatibility-List of vcdhelp.com, seems to me only a  called I-Author is 
able to do that and this only under win, hope somebody can say more about 
this topic....
