no, xine does use always teh first port.
as some newer nvidia driver had problems wiht teh first port, teh SDL
authors changed their code to use the last available port (instead of the
first one) and we followed them.

nice. so they've reversed their bug... great. use an older driver then :)
and fuck the nvidia, it sucks forever.
or even better: bugreport to them!!! they always claim that they never got
any bugreport from users.
