  mplayer -dvd 1 -dumpstream -dumpfile /tmp/file.dump, right?

yes, -aid should work _when_playing_the_dump_file (not when doing the dump
itself). -alang won't, it requires access to the DVD disc to read the
language table from the .ifo struct.
